Meet my dolls:
Kit was my very first American Girl Doll. I got a catalog in the mail and it took me some time to get used to the fact that her name was "Kit" like a "tool kit" (which was quite confusing for me as a seven-year-old). But since we both had short blond hair and loved to write, I decided she was what I REALLY wanted for Christmas.
Susan (formerly Emily) was my second doll. I got her for Christmas 2003, a year after I got Kit.
Lucy (formerly Devon) I received for my 10th birthday.
Chloe, my fourth doll, I bought myself with money from my 11th birthday party. She is the one of my dolls that looks the most like me.
Eleanor (formerly Natalie) was a present from my grandmother in 2006. She had visited Chicago and went to the AG store there for me.
Felicity, my sixth doll, was supposedly to be my last. I got her for my 12th birthday.
So much for Felicity being my last doll! When Mia came out in 2008, I immediately knew that was not going to be the case! When we were in Atlanta for a competition of my brothers, I visited an AG store for the first time and brought Mia home with me.
Ruthie I also bought at AG Atlanta. I visited the store in 2009 with one of my good friends.
Elizabeth was a present from my grandmother and parents for Christmas in 2009.
Rebecca is my 10th doll. My family visited Chicago in January 2011, and I made a trip to the AG store there. My parents bought Rebecca, but saved her until my birthday a few months later. So Rebecca was my Sweet Sixteen present.
