The Room is Finished!

Here it is! I am so happy about the way it turned out.

I had the little table and chair, but spray-painted them white. I sewed the seat cushion.

I made the blotter, computer, picture frames, pencil, and tissue box.  The cell phone came with the backpack in the previous picture.

I love this! The bulletin board is probably my favorite part of the room. It is cork board in a spray-painted 4x6 wooden frame. I strung ribbon across it and secured it with tiny flower-shaped brads. I made the postcards (Colonial Williamsburg and Walt Disney World - my two favorite vacation spots), movie tickets, picture, and blue ribbon on my computer. The envelope and valentine came with the AG bed and breakfast set.

I sewed the beanbag chair and made the iPod out of foam. The wall decorations are 3D scrapbooking stickers.

The shelf I painted. The bed is the kind that you get when you stay at a hotel near an AG Store. Since it was short, I set it on top of boxes. But you cannot tell because of the bedsheets. I sewed the pillows, canopy, and bedspread. I also made the gamboxes on the shelf.

I hope you enjoyed the tour! My dolls love their new room.

Sneak Peak of New Bedroom

Yesterday I sewed a lot to get some things ready for the new modern bedroom. Today I am spray painting some old doll furniture and also doing another craft. Here is a sneak peek of what I have been up to!

New Electronics

On some other blogs and sites I saw some cute computers and mp3 players.  Since I did not want to have to buy one, I was inspired to make my own!

The laptop and ipod are out of foam

The earbuds are embroidery thread and tiny pompoms

COMING UP:
Up til now I have had strictly historical settings in my dollhouse. Now I am adding new room - a modern bedroom! I should have it up in a few days. My goal is to use what I have and make as much as I can instead of buying new things (like this craft).

Playing at the Park - An AG Photostory

Hello! Today I went to the park.

Swinging is always my favorite. The best part is leaning back and looking up at the sky. You feel like you are flying!

I ran up the stairs to the slide.

I waved from the top. Here I go!

Wheee!

I was determined to do the monkeybars. They are always too hard for me. I ended up just dangling by one and then jumping to the ground. Oh well.

Aha! Now this I can do - climb!

After all that climbing and work, I decided to just sniff the pretty flowers on the trees.

Well, I hope you have had a good time with me at the park. Bye!

Happy Birthday to Mia

I bought Mia four years ago today at American Girl Boutique and Bistro Atlanta. It was my very first visit to an AG Store, and I had a blast! And of course, Mia came home with me! To read more about how I got Mia, go to the My Dolls and Dollhouse page.  Happy Birthday!

Stop Motion Video

This was my very first stop motion project. I made it back in 2010, back when Eleanor's name was Natalie, but I thought you all would enjoy it :)

Guess What is the Doll Diaries Spotlight Site This Month?!

As I was going through the recent posts of blogs I follow this morning, I came across a Doll Diaries Post.  It read, Doll Diaries Spotlight Sites for February 2012... and what do you know, my blog was listed! American Girl Doll Chronicles is now a Spotlight Site!

Beautiful French Braid Hairstyles

The other day I was playing with Chloe's hair when I started experimenting (which I do a lot).  I thought it turned out really pretty, so I wanted to show you! I did it again with Elizabeth, but then I decided to modify it a bit.

Here they are together from the side.  Chloe's falls loose down her back, while Elizabeth's is a braid.
Chloe's hair from the top. Doesn't it look like a crown?

I love how Elizabeth looks with this style! It reminds me of a medieval princess... but maybe that is just me ;)

Here is what it looks like in the back.

Pictures from Chicago

Eleanor was very excited about going to Chicago.

I was sure to pack her a bag with plenty to do, as it was a rather long ride.

She had books and magazines and crayons.

Here is the Marie-Grace and Cecile display at the store.

This is my favorite thing of McKenna's! I love the bed! It comes with so many cute accessories.

I bought these jeans and...

This tote for mini dolls.

We stayed with friends, and their daughter has a doll too! This is Eleanor with Isabelle and their dolls.

Light skin, short blond hair, brown eyes

I am interested in considering buying this doll eventually. She REALLY looks like me! I have a potential AG store trip this weekend, so who knows... My question is: what would I name her? Any suggestions?

American Doll Room

There is this website I found through Doll Diaries I just HAD to show you! You can order AG doll sized room sets like this one:

Cute, right?! The site is called American Doll Room. Here is the link: http://www.americandollroom.com//index.cfm

Wish List

I made a Wish List on the American Girl website showing the things I think are really cute.  If you want to check it out, the number is 342970
(For those of you who tried this number and it did not work, I had accidentally switched the 2 and the 4. Now it is correct.)
